I'm really sorry I was gone for so long. I'm really, really sorry. I got back to see posts in my CBOX saying I illegally stole art. I didn't realize I had done this, and I apologize sincerely to the artists whose work I used without asking their permission. I'm really, really sorry, I had no idea, and I hope you will forgive me.
As you've noticed, everything is gone from this blog. I deleted it. I am not fit to lead a pck, and after accidently stealing other's work, I don't think I deserve to.
I made some great friends, though. I will still be flitting in and out of FiercePack though. I go by Dust there. Although, I may leave FiercePack as well. I will really miss you guys. All of you.
Timber, you would have made a great apprentice.
I will be deleting this blog completely soo, I just wanted everyone to be able to know my reasons.
Thank you for following me, interacting, playing along. It really means alot to me.
I'm crying now. And I'm scared. I didn't know I could get in trouble! I saw others using pictures, and I didn't think anything of it. Does anyone know if I will get fined or anything? I've taken the pictures off like they asked...I'm just really worried, there is a knot in my chest.
I probably won't get any sleep tonight. Please, please reply and tell me what you think.

What! Stealing pictures!? I've never heard of anyone stealing pictures on blogger. Everyone uses pictures from the internet, they never get in trouble. No one has spoken to me about this. I'm really confused. Dust or Spark could you please tell me about this more. I don't want to have stolen pictures. I really do want to say sorry if I did. Also, please, PLEASE don't quite Fierce pack. You make it fun, your imagination and happy soul. I may not know you that well, but I know well enough that everyone that comes on to Fierce Pack is a fan of your dogs. Their cool and your cool and I would be extremily sad if you left. Though if you feel you have to then I wont stop you. If you do leave I hope you know I will miss you dearly and that you've become a good friend of mine. Reply please!

ReplyDeleteI know, I was confused too! Someone posted, called "Chemic" and they were talking about theft and illegally using pictures from "WildSpiritWolf" on Deviant Art. Before that someone posted called "theft" and said I illegally used an artist's pictures, and to please remove them.
I'd never heard of this either!! And Chemic got upset about me using Hakorou, too.
I think I can still manage to stay with FiercePack. I don't think I could lose Dust as well as Echo and Spark, as well as all my packmembers here. And all my great friends there!!

...I just read the Cbox....Star, thank you. And Nikori, thaaank you. I just won't have pictures. It's just going to take a ton of work changing everything over....I think I'll do it there though. It turns out in the beginning I made two blogs, and I didn't know...so...I'll fix it up there, check in here for updates!
But...last night I kinda spazzed out, and deleted like the first 10 dogs? But then I realized it would take too long to delete them all, so I deleted that blog and came here.
I'll redo everything this weekend...but...when I do, can I have anyone whose dog I deleted speak up and tell me, because I won't be able to remember. And I'll need descriptions to put under everyone.
But all of that this weekend, for now....thank you guys :)

ReplyDeleteDon't tell me it was this Gorsebite person . . .that person seems like a real trouble maker to me considering what she did to my daughters site.
I hope I am not barking up the wrong tree here.
We were not up set that she had made a Desert Clan.What we were upset with and what was illegal was that she copied it WORD for WORD exactly down to the post and my daughters profile and included the background. That was the dead give-away since it had the words TRIAL in the background.
Anyway. . . as far as using cat pictures for your girls cat characters. . .you guys should be ok. . .it is not plagerisum to use a picture of a cat to represent a character. It would be if you were trying to SELL it. . .but you guys a kids. .I wouldn't worry about that.

I don't know if what we do here is illegal or not, but I don't want to take risks. I looked up penalties for using pictures, and the fines can range from $10,000-50,000!!! I don't want to risk that! AND it said it might not even be obvious if it's copyrighted. It doesn't have to have the symbol in the picture! I don't know if their work was copyrighted or not, and I don't know if using it is illegal.
I know we're kids, but that won't stop someone from getting me in trouble, right? And I don't want to start any legal problems.
And I don't know how they found my blog!! I mean, lots of blogs use anime pictures of cats and dogs!
I just don't want to make things worse. I don't want to not worry about it, and then get into trouble because I didn't remove the pictures like they asked me to!
It's all so confusing!!

Does anyone know who this Gorsebite is? She is still harassing my daughter and calling both of us names. I don;'t stand for internet bullying and that is exactly what she is doing. If anyone knows who she is and has her email, I would like to have it so can send HER the cease and desist letter.

I have not heard from my friend yet but she is very busy and doesn't check her mail very oftern. She is usually creating some scrap kit or some other art.

ReplyDeleteIf it has a name of a photographer or artist on it, look up the creator, ask for permission and follow their TOU, give them a link on the blog somewhere for the image.
If it does not have a name on it and you cannot find out who is the creator - don't take the image at all.
If you look for some great pictures, which are royalty free and can be used in commercial and non commercial projects without restriction, go to
www.morguefile.com
they have oodles of animal pics which are free to use and no risk involved

TP, do not under any circumstances let a jerk like what's-his-face tell you off. You matter, your a special person and worth leading a pack. Like it's already been said, people use pics from the internet all the time, so if the person attacking you really thinks he can make you leave by telling you you stole artwork, he'd better think again. Little stuck-up freaks like that don't deserve to be on blogger, or even have a computer for that matter. Do not ever, ever, ever delete your pack because someone is going to pathetically attempt to ruin your innocence, if you will, by saying you committed theft or artwork. FOR CRYING OUT LOUD. If you ever get challenged like that, tell us before you do anything, and don't panic. All of us, even me though I'm not of your pack, would gladly stand up for you and drive out the 'intruder'.

But what if it's not just some kid? What if they really mean it? I don't want them to file charges! I just don't know!! There is really no way to tell. The fact that someone gave me a link to an artist seems to me like their serious. Maybe I'll just get rid of their pics, I don't know.

We see this all the time in the art community here online. I make tags and backgrounds and there are alot of artists that don't want their work used.. but there are alot that don't mind either as long as you give them credit for thier work. . and don't try to claim it as your own. I had to come to the understanding myself. . .and sometimes it still is hard for me to understand even though I promote the giving credit and copyright stuff. It just takes a litttle knowledge and a little work.

My dad pointed this out, quite smartly I might add. If the kid (which I'm 102% positive he was) said that to someone at school, he'd get his nose broken. Numerous people would want to do it. Honestly, I probably would if I was big enough. This little jerkish moron (yes, it's an entire race in this world) thinks that since he's hiding behind a screen name, he can cyberbully anyone and everyone he wants and get away with it unharmed. To some extent, this is true. But not entirely.
Quiarrah is right when she says it takes a lot of money to sue someone. A lot. And this person doesn't even know your name. I find that highly amusing.
Here's another thought: Someone's been bugging Icepack as well. He goes by the name of Gorsebite. But his problem was, he couldn't really find anything that Hawkface was 'guilty' of, and he resorted to spewing silly isults and her and Quiarrah.
Pathetic. And we're all to good for that.

Ah. .so you saw that one? I must admit I did get a little peeved and lost my cool at times but this Gorsebite person was downright mean to both me and Hawk, who is my daughter by the way. I was only doing what any good mother would do. . protecting her child. And he/she insulted me for that as well. It all started out when we found out that someone had copied Hawks Desert Clan word for word right down to her profile and interests. That was downright scary!

Uhm, guys, I just went to undelete the blog, and under the suggestions page, it said I was stealing puictures and that they would report me to blogspot for doing this!! Im scared again, i don't know what to do!! Maybe they can't do anything, but a huge company can!! I think I'm going to tredo it without pictures!!! That will take a whil;e though!!!!!!! UUUGGGHH!!!!!!!!
